Installing Box Drive on your computer

Windows

  1. Download the Installer: Visit https://www.box.com/resources/downloads and download the Box Drive application.
  2. Run the Installer: Double-click the downloaded file to start the installation process.
  3. Log in to your Box account: You'll be prompted to enter your full Haverford email address and password.
  4. Complete the installation: Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process.
  5. Access your Box content: Once installed, you'll have a Box folder in your Windows File Explorer, where you can access and manage your Box files. 
  6. Sync Icon meanings: The blue cloud icon beside a file or folder indicates the item is safely stored and up to date in Box. Adding or updating a file or folder in Box Drive, and the icon changes to an orange syncing icon. The icon also displays as syncing when Box Drive is uploading changes you made to files offline. When the sync completes the icon resets to the blue cloud.

Mac OS

  1. Download the Installer: Visit https://www.box.com/resources/downloads and download the Box Drive application.
  2. Run the Installer: Locate the downloaded file (usually named Box.pkg) and double-click it. 
  3. Follow the Prompts: The installer will guide you through the installation process. 
    1. Click "Continue" to progress through the initial screens. 
    2. Select "Install for all users of this computer" and click "Continue". 
    3. Do not change the default installation location and click "Install". 
  4. Installation Complete: The installer will complete the installation. 
  5. Close the Installer: Click "Close" to exit the installer. 
  6. Log In: The first time you open Box Drive, you'll be prompted to log in with your Box account credentials, which is your full Haverford email address and password.
  7. Access your Box content: If you use a Mac, you can access Box Drive by opening Finder. To open Finder on a Mac, you can either click the Finder icon in the Dock, use the keyboard shortcut Command + N, or open a new Finder window from the Finder menu bar. Once a Finder menu is open you should see a Box folder on the left side of the Finder.
  8.
